Акция солидарности в Лондоне
В Лондоне анархисты провели акцию солидарности с протестующими против саммита G8 в Питере, где любая попытка противостоять мировым лидерам жёстко пресекается.
Войдя в офисы Русско-Британской Торговой палаты, они развернули баннеры, которые были хорошо видны с улицы. Пока часть группы объясняла причины протеста людям, находящимся в Торговой палате, оставшаяся её часть раздавала листовки тем представителям общественности, которые выражали протестующим свою поддержку и понимание. Торговая палата – это главное связующее звено между российскими и британскими корпорациями, чьи интересы рекламируются на саммите большой восьмёрки за счёт простых россиян и британцев.
Акция длилась больше 45 минут и была прервана появлением трёх автобусов со спецназом и нескольких полицейских машин. Британская полиция мало чем отличалась от российской: один из протестующих был повален на землю и избит тремя полицейскими.
Комментарий одного из участников акции по поводу её целей: «Мы хотим показать активистам и людям России, что у них есть международная поддержка в их борьбе против репрессий со стороны правительства».
Anarchists in London showed their support for anti-G8 protesters in Russia, where any attempt to challenge the dominant voices of the world's leaders is being brutally suppressed.
They targeted the Russo-British Chamber if Commerce near London Bridge, entering the offices and unfurling banners that could be widely seen by in the busy street below. Whilst several of the group discussed the reasons for the protest with those in the Chamber of Commerce, others handed out leaflets to members of the public who demonstrated their support and sympathy with the protesters. The Chamber of Commerce is the main link between Russian and British corporations, whose interests are being promoted at the G8 summit at the expense of the majority of the Russian and British people.
The protest went on for over 45 minutes, and then was cut short by the arrival of three riot vans and several police cars. The British police then showed that they share many similarities with their Russian counterparts. One protester was thrown to the ground and assaulted by three police officers.
One protester commented on the purpose of the protest: “We want to show activists and people of Russia that they have international support in their fight against the repression of their government”
